Our service

The Counselling Partnership is here to offer short to longer term counselling to all members of the community.

Typically the process of referral includes the following steps;

  1. The client contacts the Counselling Partnership using one of the methods listed on our contacts page.
  2. Our Administrator writes to the client with a date for assessment and a short form to fill in and bring to the assessment.
  3. The assessment is conducted by a qualified, experienced counsellor who aims to get a feel of the issues the client is experiencing.
  4. The client is contacted when a counsellor becomes available at one of our venues
  5. The first appointment is attended
  6. Then there is an initial 6 week period which is used by the client and counsellor to work together to agree on how much time might be needed for the client. The maximum the charity will work with clients is 12 months.
